BENEFIT CONCERT “FOR THE KIDS”

El Dustberry Ranch, (www.eldustberry.org), and the Sunshine Kids, (www.sunshinekids.org), both non-profit organizations providing support and special programs to children with cancer, autism and youth at risk, have been chosen as beneficiaries of the first annual “FOR THE KIDS” Childrens’Charities Fundraiser, Concert and Silent auction. The event, spearheaded by the philanthropic drive of Scott Nell of Prudential CA Realty, will be held Monday October 27, 2008 at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood.

Composer, Dan Foliart is at the helm of the entertainment for the evening with his 10 piece band, Afterglow. A mix of jazz fusion and pop, Afterglow reunites some of the greatest names from the Los Angeles recording scene. Dan’s television music career has spanned over thirty years from “Happy Days” and “Roseanne” to this summer’s biggest hit, ABC Family’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”.

The evening’s show will feature the talents of two other artists, bringing to the event a well-rounded line-up of entertainers.

Steve Bertrand, former front man for the bands, Avion and the Tories, has just completed scoring his first film, entitled “Small Town Saturday Night”. This award winning composer/musician has also been busy in the TV world creating theme songs for NBC’s Jesse and many others. His songs, “Seven Days Without You”, and “Beautiful” have both been on the Top 20 Hot AC hit list.

Bonnie Piesse, singer/songwriter/actress from Melbourne, Australia, began her acting career as Aunt Beru in Star Wars Episodes 2 and 3. Bonnie’s passion for music led her to Grammy Award winning record producer Val Garay, who connected her with songwriting greats like JD Souther, Jack Tempchin, Bonnie Hayes and Eric Kaz. Bonnie’s folk/pop style debut album will be released on 321 Records in 2009.
